Can ThumbsPlus open an image in another editor
« on: 2019-02-06 14:27:57 »
1. If a file type is associated with another program you can right click a thumbnail and choose "Edit" to open the image in the associated program.

2. If you want to always open a certain file format in another program, right click a thumbnail of that type of image and go to "Configure Type". Change "Load file using" to None.
(HINT:  Setting up a file type configuration for unsupported file types to "Load using None" will use the internal Windows thumbnail if available.)

3. If you want to always open EVERY type of file in another program, go to Options>Preferences>General and choose "Edit image" for "Default Action".

4. You can put a toolbar icon for any program on the ThumbsPlus toolbar!

Right click the toolbar and go to "Customize", then select the "Programs" tab.

The attached image illustrates this process.

To have access to the External Programs on the File menu as well as the thumbnail menu, right click the the toolbar and go to "Customize". Go to the "Commands" tab,  scroll to "All" and with the "Customize" dialog box open, expand the "File" menu and drag the "Open with" command to the File menu and drop.

This process is illustrated in the attached image.
