Too Many Users
« on: 2018-08-13 08:50:42 »
When I open a second database, I get an error message saying I have too many users and the database will not open.  This has happened three times now and I have had to recreate the database by re-scanning.  Fortunately this is a small database with only a few thousand pictures in it, so it does not take too long, but it is very frustrating and if it happens to my main database it will be painful.

I have only one computer and there have been no crashes.

What is happening?

THanks
Brad

This could happen if, for instance, you have a one-user license and multiple users are trying to access the database simultaneously. If this happens on a stand-alone computer, could it be that you are using multiple users accounts on it, in quick succession? Or, maybe the database is read-only and has an old user login stuck inside (the current users are kept track of in the database)?  You could use the free [link=http://www.alexnolan.net/software/mdb_viewer_plus.htm]MDB Viewer Plus[/link] tool to view the ActiveUsers table in your database file (*.tpdb8) to see if that provides any hints.
