it didn't work. tp5 has all the setting you mentioned. here's what is set....
i pulled up 4 images - on one image i,,,,,

1...all the margins are set to "0.00"
2...size = 3"
3...images per page = 4
4...fit = stretch
5...auto rotate 90* to layout is checked

it only printed that one image, so i pulled up a second image, intending to set all 4 individually,  but i noticed everything i set in the first image was set in the other. i tried both checking and unchecking auto rotate and all it did was rotate the image 90*, and neither worked.

there must be something i'm missing since "images per page" is an available option.
two questions,,,do i actually open all four image and can i crop all four,,,,,or,,,,can i only hilite four images and therefore not crop anything?

thx

ps,,,well i can't just hilite because i'm still only printing one image

is there a way to  layout multiple images on a page, so that i can print them all at once?

currently, i have shift additional images using the top/bottom/left/right margins and run the print page through the printer over and again. problem with that, aside from being cumbersome, is that the printed paper has caught on occasion and i've had to extract the mess manually.

if there was a way to layout all the images on a page format and then print it, it would be GREAT.

thumbs plus 5

thanks all

yeah but i'm worried about screwing everything ELSE up.
as it is, tp DOES work after i cancel all those annoying messages.

and as i mention in the op, the renaming entry field already says "DRIVE_C", but when i click okay it gives me the error message....

65
up until now i've been using wXP. i have also started using w7pro, and i get this issue....

windows7 pro

when i double click tp, i get a "drive c:\ does not have a volume label which,,,,,please enter a new label for the disk". in the entry field there is "DRIVE_C" already entered. when i click "okay", i get a [5088/144]unable to write disk label to drive c:.:     the directory is not a subdirectory of the root directory.

when i click "cancel" i get a "[7243] TP requires unique, non-blank volume labels on disks to differentiate drives. unpredictable results may occur if you don't label your disks. do you want to try to run any?  i click "yes" and TP runs normally. all this to say after i cancel out, tp runs just fine anyway.

what should i do? i never had this issue with wXP.
when i look at the c-drive in tp's left panel, it says c: <#6a13f60f>...in tp on my wXP it says c:

as far as i can see everything works fine except for this stupid error message

General Discussion / simple questions
« on: 2014-08-10 05:17:20 »
i use tp5. it serves my needs in the following ways
1...the galleries i can create
2...the "transform" tab and ALL it's options (esp the rotate to line function and the printing options...what a godsend)

i use tp to manipulate all my 1000's of stored image files for use in my creative works of art. i manipulate and print, and that is the reference i use for my art.  i don't use any other functions of tp - i don't categorize or tag any of my works. tp is just a tool for referencing and resource.

so i have a couple of questions
1...is it worth it to get a later version,,,ie,  have there been any improvements on the functions i currently use in tp5.

2...if i do get a later version, which is the optimal one for me and

3...is the td4 file from tp5 applicable to any later version

thx all

ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / tp 5 viewing folder in order
« on: 2014-06-05 01:52:31 »
i have my source folder set to date/descending. that way any new images will always show first, and from there i can easily drag to the appropriate "gallery' i created.

however for the longest time (YEARS) not all the new images are one top. for instance i just added 12 images to the source folder, and when i opened up tp only 10 were on iop and i cannot find the other two.

not only the new images, but if i scroll through the source folder, the images are not in order. there will be batches of images that are properly listed, but then not all. for instance 1147 - 1187 might all be in proper order but then there'll be a 378 etc etc then a batch of others.

any hints as to what's up? thx

ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / moving a folder
« on: 2013-07-28 07:28:31 »
i tried moving a folder. couldnt do it. hilited the folder, went into i forget which tab, hit move, pop up ask me to browse to another directory, did it, then ok.

folder didnt move.

tp5

thx

71
okay, then my sort changes are not working. i've tried everything,,,from within the galleries to general prefs.

if i delete the td4 file in explorer and close out tp, will td4 regenerate when i open tp again?

thx

72
absolutely...i'm creating a mock folder to test. of course it makes perfect sense that the best way for tp to follow anything is to let it handle everything.

i don't have later versions so i was wondering, do they allow me to default  sort thumbnails (date descending) for all my galleries, because as i may have mentioned, none of my sort preferences are remembered whether per gallery or in general prefs. the default sort in "name" even though i've made general pref changes

73
yes...i was coming back to edit my post. it wasn't until i started doodling around and tried to drag the test folder that i got the message about general prefs.

i "allowed folder operations". moved the folder and everything was newly recataloged into the new test folder under my "galleries"

THANKS !!!!!

i'm going to do more fiddling which means i'll end up with a lot of rubbish in tp. so if i want to "reset" everything that i've tested and start from scratch with a clean tp/td4,,, is there a reset button or something?

thanks you're the man. way better than getting a support ticket!! :):)

74
there's a "create" but delete, rename, copy, and move are greyed out. my first reaction was "rats, i cannot move",,,but you're saying create a new folder and just move everything to that folder, all within tp?

i will test

75
however also my question is can i access and alter the default folder path itself as another option?,,,from "program files\paint shop pro\xxx " to "desktop\tpimages" or something similar.

If you want TP to show that new location when it starts up, I think you can configure it to do so at Options | Preferences | Startup (but your v5 is very old and I don't recall much about it).
______________________________________________________

yes,,,i can change what folder tp opens at startup BUT that is not my question. my question is if in the future i want to move that source folder out of the psp program and put it elsewhere, like desktop\images, how would i or COULD i change td4 so that it reads the new source destination instead of the old, thereby alleviating the necessity of recataloging all my images.....or am i stuck with always using the paint shop pro\images path

thx for your time...:):):)
