Hi is there a way to edit TIFF Tags with ThumbPlus 9?

I'm searching a way to update the TIFF tag DateTime (N. 306) with a new value.

I have played with "Metadata Batch Edit" command without success.

Thanks,

A.

Hi,

I think an useful function is missed from TP.

"Go to image thumb" helps to select, in the thumbs window, an image thumb by its name. Launch the command, the window scrolls to the image thumb,  so It is possible to select, open the image and browse next and previous images.

This is not possible with filter by mask, because the images stream is filtered and browsing function is not possible.

Thanks,
A.

I'm trying to delete image keywords entries directly from metadata panel without success (using backspace, canc, cut, etc.).

Procedure to reproduce the issue:
-select an image with keywords (one or more)
-from metadata panel, select and then delete the keywords with backspace, and then press return
-the keyword field is updated and empty
-select another image and then select again the previous one
-the deleted keywords are reloaded from the DB

Using latest TP9 build with MS Access DB.

Thanks.

ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / A quick way to tag images?
« on: 2013-08-02 04:03:50 »
Hi All,

Is there a way to tag images with multiple values in TP9 using special keys?
I found only a way to add keywords or tags selecting values from menu or via direct input.
And of course the standard TP tag function permits only one value (tag or untagged).

Other softwares (Media Pro, Lightroom, PhotoMechanics, etc.) have tools to mark images with colors and labels using i.e. function keys.

Thanks.

Alessandro

Hi Laura,

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll try to switch to MS Access DB with external thumbnails.

Best Regards,
Alessandro

Thank you Gary and Rainer. I had applied the suggested tricks but the performance is still very poor.
I have also disabled VM as read here http://forums.cerious.com/forum/index.php?mode=thread&id=17

I was wondering if the performance with MySQL database will be the same (assuming that db and images are on the same workstation).

Thank you.

Hi All,

We are doing some tests, comparing usage of Sqlite3 Db versus Access Db.
We found that browsing images from view window, loading next or previous item, with Sqlite3 Bd is a very slow operation.
The sample images are JPEGS at about 300 Kb size each.
With Access Db the operation is rapid and without delay.

We use TP to review a lot of images images that come from a scan process, so the speed of browsing needs is important.

Any tricks to speed up image browsing in Sqlite3 Db?

Thanks,
Alessandro
