BUG: Sorting and updating in TP9-3943
« on: 2014-10-31 17:26:52 »
I have three files called 1.jpg, 2.jpg and 3.jpg. I sort by name. I use F2 to rename 2.jpg to 4.jpg. The display does NOT update. I then click on 3.jpg and use F2 to rename it to 2.jpg. The file then disappears! I'm left with two files: 1.jpg and 4.jpg. If click on another folder, the display of course updates, but this is very annoying!

I and others have reported this bug over and over.  Likely it will never get fixed.  The easiest solution is to press F5 to refresh the display - thumbnails that "disappeared" will be displayed.

Cheers,
Gary

THanks for your reply! I still hope that at some stage TP can get back to where they were.

So I keep on reposting my bugs!

Wishful thinking. The same issues are reported over and over in these forums. Honestly, I don't even think ThumbsPlus Staff is reading it.

I am convinced they don't read the forums, even though they stated they would.  I am convinced they ignore problem reports - they always seem to have problems with their e-mail/support system.  I am convinced they don't have a touch point plan to test their product.  Cerious just sent out an e-mail saying Beta4 is almost ready.  Any bets that none of these issues will be fixed?

I want this product to work!  There is nothing on the market that compares.  It is a shame that it has deteriorated into what appears to be an unmanageable mess.

Exactly! But I also want to bet that beta 4 will include a long change list. There are many abandoned products out there, but TP seems to be very much alive. It just seems that we and Cerious live in parallel universes. :-(

In an email I had from Laura Shook, she said that the refreshing of edited user fields will be fixed in the next release, so it could be that the same refresh code will fix this bug as well. We can live in hope!
