v7 with MS SQL Express on W7/64
« on: 2012-02-08 10:50:50 »
Hello all,

I have decided to stay with v7 for a while until (if ever) v8
is stable and bugfree enough. This will likely be the time when
Hans Fremuth decides to launch a German v8.

I have built a new main machine last year running Win7/64 Ultimate.

AMD hexacore, 16GB memory, SSD start volume, high end graphic card.

So far, so good. The problem is that there are 8 TB in hard disk
space filled with image files. The regular T+ database can't handle
that much, and I have failed to setup and connect to a database
with MS SQL Express.

Can anyone post step by step instructions how to setup and connect
to a database on MS SQL Express under W7/64 Ultimate with
Thumbs Plus 7 Pro 5 client network?

Much obliged, MQ

PPL

I'd like to have an answer to this question too. Database size limitation is really painful after 4 years of photography ...

I'm thinking of splitting databases, having different dbs for different cayegories of images...
