What is error code 5774 / #000000c9
« on: 2015-05-30 15:27:01 »
When I edit and save a picture I mostly get the error message "TPvC5FE.tmp.jpg: Unable to update XMP, error #000000c9" - XML parsing failure.
Thx.

Same error I got when trying to resize a picture.  Ugh.  I went back to build 3946.  I swear these people do not test this software.

I agree.  The ONLY reason I am using version 9 is because 7 can't handle Japanese characters in file names.  7 was the best version out there. 8 and 9 have NOT impressed me even though I own 6 licenses. It is still the best program for what it does in my opinion. They really do need to fix things without UNfixing other things.

I use 9 only because I've exceeded the 2GB database limit of 7.  I use 7 for video files as 9 will not create proper thumbnails nor find dupes with video files.  The separate window concept of 9 is totally frustrating.  Tab no longer works to go between panes.  Panes lose focus.  Dragging between panes is a pain.  Ugh.

Same here

First I get a message saying "Unable to update XMP" and then another saying "XMP Metadata cannot be stored in filetype jpg".

But if I click OK it saves OK.

Confusing!

With the last Beta 9SP3B2, when using a Batch Process just to re-size the pictures in order to share with others I get this message for every file:

<5774> IMG_20150601_165248.jpg: Unable to update XMP, error #000000c9:     XML parsing failure
<6040> M:\2015\2015-06 (Jun)\small1\IMG_20150601_165248.jpg: XMP Metdata cannot be stored in file type 'jpg'

It was working right in the previous versions and Betas. As consequence of the error, it doesn't copy all the original EXIF and Metadata from the origin pictures to the destination. Really a bad thing because I had to go back to the previous Beta.

This appears to be fixed in 3952.
