Not really :)

Have you checked the usual suspects.. are you using a 32-bit Unicode ODBC driver and is MySQL set to use ANSI ('ANSI_QUOTES') mode?

When nothing in there leads to a heartfelt 'But of course!', maybe a trace log can help you pinpoint the problem. With syntax errors, it's often something as simple as an apostrophe, a comma or an empty line that causes the hiccup.
