Double Linked Datasbase Thumbnails

Some how I have created/caused each thumbnail to show up in both the empty main folder and in the sub-folder(s) where the file is actually located.  Deleting and recreating thumbnails, moving files between folders, and removing orphans, repairing and compacting database has not corrected the problem.  Thumbnails are generated on command not automatically.  Example: Main folder - yr\yr2012\121118 Subfolder - yr\yr2012\121118\raw (files are located in subfolder).  Problem is affecting folders and thumbnails processed months ago.

Still using 7.0sp2(2551) until I can find out why V9 freezes during startup.

Options | Preferences | Thumbnail View: "Always show child folders" is probably on.

Yes it was, just discovered the setting by experimenting.  I really need to stop making changes on 3 hours sleep.  Thank you so very much for your timely reply.
