Hello Daan,
the network is shown in the tree panel. Public locations was also ticked before (default). Only the shared folders of my own PC are listed. Weird.
Yes, sure to map as drive is possible but not really wanted..

But does the network show in the tree panel at all? If not, see Options | Preferences | Disks & Folders | Turn off "Do not show network branch".

If the network does show, but not any shared drives or devices within it, go to the same dialog and try tagging the option "Public Locations" in the lower right corner.

If that still doesn't help, could it be that you're running ThumbsPlus from an account that has no access to those locations?

As a work around, have you tried to map those locations to drive letters?

Hello together,

I cant scan my shared NW devices like NAS other PC's etc. I use Win10. The only folder which appears is a local shared folder of the PC where TB is installed.
The devices are in the same network and workgroup. No problem to find em in FileExplorer.

Thank you
Marc

ThumbsPlus v10 Questions / Re: Fuji Raw not supported?
« Last post by Daan van Rooijen on 2022-01-01 18:53:13 »
I don't know if it is or isn't possible, but from your report here I guess it isn't. The only possible solution that I can think of is this: try setting the plugins to use the embedded JPG (instead of the raw data) to create a thumbnail. See under Options | Digicam and Options | DCRAW in the main menu.

The DCRAW raw development code that both plugins are based on, is no longer being maintained. So, I don't see how ThumbsPlus will be able to decode new raw formats from new cameras unless Cerious switches to a different raw library.

ThumbsPlus v10 Questions / Fuji Raw not supported?

Raw file .RAF from FujiFilm X-T4 doesn't produce a thumbnail, just a black and off-white thing. I've tried with the .RAF file type set to load with plug_digicam.tpp and with plug_digiraw.tpp - no difference.
Digicam plugin is version 5.6.0.0.
Is it possible? Thanks

Maybe the folder was refreshed when ThumbPlus read it, and that triggered it..?  Anyway, good that you found the problem and I hope the Dropbox people will fix it!

ThumbsPlus v10 Questions / Re: Windows Explorer thumbnails disappear

Thanks Daan,

I narrowed this down and it happens only on Dropbox, not on any other Windows folder. Seems to be a known problem on new installations like mine. They do not have a solution, only a weork-around: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-files-folders/Thumbnails-are-missing-cannot-preview-images-on-local-files/m-p/400616/highlight/true#M146525

I did, however, observe how thumbnails disappeared when I viewed the folder with T+, but that may have been coincidence.

Explorer stores its thumbnail cache for each folder in a file named thumbs.db.

ThumbsPlus ignores those files. I can't think of any way that it might interfere with the Explorer thumbnails on your system.

ThumbsPlus v10 Questions / Windows Explorer thumbnails disappear
« Last post by JMLobert on 2021-12-05 22:32:26 »
I have a new laptop and the thumbnails in Windows File Explorer either don't get made or disappear and it seems that T+ is causing this. Every folder in which T+ makes thumbnails prevents Windows Explorer from making them, or if they were made by Explorer, they disappear.

This does not happen on my desktop (or on my previous laptop).

Any suggestions?

Thanks! I just got a new PC, and I had to thumb all my files, which I hadn't done in several years, so I had forgotten how to do it. I eventually remembered the INS trick.
