This is just an "I'm sad" post.  I started using TP in one of the earliest (ca. early 1997) versions.  Every once in a while, I check in here to see if Cerious has risen from the ashes....but....no joy.  27 years.  Sigh.  [sniffle]

We didn't even get a chance to say, "Goodbye."  It was nice knowing you folks.

I've spent the last 45 minutes trying to figure out how to Tag an image into my gallery called "Review", rather than the default (Tagged Images).  So far, I've not found a way to do this:  all my tags show up in the default Tagged Images folder.

I wanted to find a 'one-key' solution (like using INSert, but having it go to 'Review' vs. 'Tagged Images' gallery).  Is there a way to do this, or shall I give up and use the default?

Thanks, Connie

I've added several external USB drives recently and I just started up TP10. I got a message box saying:

Drive I:\ has the same label as drive G:\ (Elements).  ThumbsPlus
uses labels to associate thumbnails with files.  Please enter a new
   label for drive I:\
      DRIVE_L

I've never gotten this message before, so I'm not sure what happened and why TP needs a new label.  I thought I always had my TP database on my C drive or possibly my D drive, but I don't remember ever using "I:".  But...I've been using TP for LOTS of years and now I'm old, so who knows?  :)

I'd rather not lose my associations and have to recreate my entire TP database.  That'd make me sad.  I looked through the .INI file but couldn't see any reference to "Drive I" (maybe I missed it).

Is there an easy solution?   I've already got these drive letters:  C D E F G H I L N T.  I've also defined J: and K: which are attached to another computer.

Is it simply a matter of going with (what I assume is) the suggested "DRIVE_L"?

Any suggestion would sure be helpful.

ThumbsPlus v10 Questions / Mouse wheel behavior setting
« on: 2019-07-01 12:27:55 »
When viewing thumbnails, I use the wheel to scroll through the images.  No matter what setting I choose in Options-Preferences-Thumbnail View, the wheel always scrolls the images one row at a time.  My choice is "use Windows mouse settings" which is always set to "whole screen at a time", but it never does that in TP10.

I searched through the Help and in the Forum, but can't find any mention of this.

Is this a bug, or just the way it's going to work, no matter which choice I make?

TIA, Connie

ThumbsPlus v10 Questions / WMF to JPG using Quick Convert
« on: 2017-10-17 20:41:14 »
I have old WMF files and wanted to convert them to JPG.  The JPG file ends up with a black background, rather than a white background, as I've specified in "Background color for delete and cut" as defined under Options | Viewing | Editing."

Is there any other option I should change in order to get a white background instead of black?

Thanks for any suggestions...

ThumbsPlus v10 Questions / all my .PNG files are black
« on: 2016-11-14 22:13:40 »
The Help file says that TP can display PNG files but I'm only seeing black in both the Preview window and in the thumbnail list.

When I double click the PNG file, the View window is all black.  If I look at the file in my file list, it shows as a graphic, or if I edit the file in Irfanview, it shows as a graphic.

I'm using latest TP, in Windows 7.

I searched the Forum for PNG, but didn't find any display issues.

What do I need to do to be able to see these?  Is there a setting I'm missing?

TIA, Connie

I went to Options, File Types, and looked for this file extension to see if I could un-check it from being displayed but can't find it.

Thanks,

ThumbsPlus v10 Questions / SVG file type viewer?
« on: 2016-08-22 20:12:27 »
Is there any filter or viewer for .SVG files in TP10?  I can edit my SVG files with Inkscape, but it takes so awfully long to load Inkscape so that I can get a copy onto the clipboard and use Make Thumbnail From Clipboard.

Thanks,
Connie

I just loaded SP1(4010).

When I double-click on the Adobe Acrobat icon in my TP thumbnail list, nothing happens.  It won't use Adobe Reader to open the file.  If I display the folder in Explorer, and then double-click on the file name, it opens right up.

I've tried using "Configure File Type" and setting the file equivalent to type PDF (although that seems silly, but I'm grasping) - no joy.

What do I need to do to get PDF files recognized (as they've always been)?

I'm running Win7, TP build 4004.  I have an embroidery software design digitizing program that has a plug-in for Windows Explorer.  When I click on an embroidery file in Explorer, this plug-in shows a graphic in the Preview Pane (or when I choose "Sm, Med, Lg Icons") of what the design will look like when stitched out on an embroidery sewing machine.

I haven't been able to figure out how to get T+ to display these embroidery design files.  I would really like to use T+ to view my designs, rather than using the emb. software program's Explorer plug-in.

If the embroidery software company created a plug-in to do the above, is there any way I can take advantage of that ability and get T+ to display graphics within the T+ software without me having to use the emb. software to make a JPG file of every design file, just so I can view them in T+?  If I had to do that, it'd more than double the amount of storage these designs take now, and I've got ~25,000 files, give or take.

Any ideas?

Many moons ago (years & years?), it SEEMS like I recall there was a way to do a quick view of a graphic file using TP, without having to start up the entire program.  Does anyone know if there was that option, and if so, is there currently an option to allow this?  I'm thinking maybe a right-click on the file name and choosing a TP 'mini-viewer'?

The reason this question came up is that I was trying to find a way to display .CGM files in Irfanview (it used to work, but I just updated to the latest version yesterday and now it tells me I have to buy a DLL in order to display the CGM file).  Duh.  I don't think so.

As I was googling "CGM file filter or viewer", it occurred to me that TP is able to display CGM files (thank goodness I don't HAVE to buy yet another program just to see my old CGM files).  Now I can at least see the graphic by using TP.  Then it occurred to me that TP used to have a small, separate viewer apart from loading the entire program and it was much faster.

Anyone remember this?

General Discussion / Ver. 7 AND Ver. 9?
« on: 2012-11-01 10:12:10 »
I'm still running Ver. 7 (and have been a TP+ user for many, many years).  I have a perpetual license.  I downloaded all the updates after Ver. 7, but never installed them and have been waiting to see what everyone thinks.

Now that Ver. 9 is 'officially' released, I'd like to know if I can run Ver. 7 (which works just fine) AND Ver. 9?

Like always, I'll be downloading it, but won't install it if it messes up Ver. 7.

Thanks for any response or thoughts.
