ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / Thumbnail Orientation 3928
« on: 2013-06-15 07:21:11 »
I don't have TP7 installed at the moment, so can't check how it works for me, but the TP9 way makes more sense. If you rotate the thumbnail, that is what is rotated, not the original image.

There is a seperate option under 'Quick process' which rotates the actual image, and this does transfer to the Edit window and external programs.

In summary:-

Right click - Thumbnail - Orient will rotate the thumbnail only.

Right click - Quick process - Turn.... will rotate the image.

Thumbnail rotation should transfer to the slide show, it does for me.

Editing shouldn't as you are working on the original file and has nothing to do with the thumbnail, and external programs don't read anything from TP so don't know if the thumbnail is rotated or not.

Just tested this, and it works fine for me.

I have choices of (all), (same), 1, 2 and they all behave as expected.

This hasn't worked since the first full release, so if you are running any of the production releases then installing 3928 won't make this issue any worse.

So far it hasn't fixed any of my issues, and the published fixes didn't affect me anyway, either because it wasn't a problem on my system, or they are features I do not use.

The field sort drop down list at the top of the thumbnail window does not have user fields.

Also the list of displayed fields (the 'lightbulb' icon) does not show the selected fields correctly. I suspect the two things are connected which is why I have mentioned them in the one thread.

When installing, browsing to an alternative install path does not change the path in the box. Only way is to type the path in manually.

Laura has replied to my email!

It was a very detailed reply, and it would seem that things are looking up at Cerious HQ.

She assures me that 3928 is imminent and that will address a whole bunch of issues, especially the ones most commonly reported on here. They also have a new support person in post dealing exclusively with support emails.

Here's hoping!

It was definately deleted (this is just a re-post with the same title) as I have email notification set up and it shows up there, but clicking on the link takes me to the index page. Same happens for all the other threads that were deleted.

Have emailed Laura to see why Cerious are deleting what is a wealth of free fault diagnosis and software testing, but I am yet to get a reply. I am not actually expecting one!

There was a solution for the ini file getting over-written that one of the forum members had posted, but Cerious deleted it, along with all the other fixes and workrounds for TP9.

It seems that they have deleted all the posts that had any mention of the many bugs in their software, and don't even want the user community to fix them.

Perhaps the person who posted the original solution will see this and re-post the workround for you.

Yes, they deleted the first one! I'll keep reposting it until someone takes some notice and resolves my issues.

So Cerious have seen fit to delete all the negative threads about TP9, including those that had fixes and workrounds for problems. In amongst this was a long thread where 2 forum members were trying to help sort out my issue with slow performance, which is still unresolved.

So you cannot be bothered to help me via the help desk, and now you delete the help I was getting via the forum. Do you actually want any customers? I have persevered with this poor excuse for a program for years now, in the faint hope that the problems would eventually get sorted.

You have ripped me off totally, I have had nothing for the money I have spent with you and you have no will to even attempt to put things right.

Goodbye.

Try these two topics; I asked exactly the same question ages ago, but I got a reply!
