Title: MariaDB connection
Post by: ducky124 on 2014-05-15 07:56:03
I have MariaDb installed. I ran your script to create the database. I then setup the ODBC drivers for MariaDB. Everything seems good. Now my problem is how to I get ThumbPlus9 to access the database. I have tried everything. I checked your website along with the help files, but I  can find no documentation on how to do this. Could someone please send me some info on how I might do this. I am running the latest beta of ThumbPlus9 on windows 7.

If you ran the script, you have to locate the directory with the databasefile in Explorer. Rightclick on Open with.. ,select TP9.
Maybe this hint helps you.

As far as I see, the MARIADB script on the Thumbsplus Site is a MySQL script. I think thats wrong. The file should be somewhere in the Userdirectory.

Guess by using the built SQLite db if you don't have to meet any specific conditions, this is definitely worth a try. I'm sorry, again, I can not help you in this case.

If the Mariadb service is running and you have made the ODBC connection to the database, you should be able to open the database through Database | Connect in ThumbsPlus.

Looks like you haven't made a data source yet. Run Start > Run > odbcad32 to launch the ODBC configuration tool, then make a file DSN or system DSN for your database. See also pages 5+6 of [link]ftp://ftp.cerious.com/pub/cerious/sqlserver.pdf[/link].

In that case I'd turn on SQL logging in the ODBC administrator, try again to connect to the database and see if the logfile contains any hints as to what is going wrong (and be sure to turn logging off afterwards).
