Rotation issues (v9 SP1)
« on: 2013-10-30 14:21:55 »
Hi,

I've still got an issue even with SP1 where on Batch processing a .CR2 file the image comes out rotated. When I upload to facebook its the wrong orientation.

So the original CR2 (Canon EOS500D) file, is portrait and the Image attributes show it as Orientation Right-Top.

I have set:

Pref -> Metadata ->
- Rotate based on XMP/EXIF     TICKED
- Don't Reotate portrait images  TICKED

Digicam plugin options ->
- Rotate based on EXIF orientation   UNTICKED

The batch job:

- Image Stamp with text
- Resize to 2048 x 2048 with aspect
- Save as JPG

The resulting JPG file, the Thumbnail looks correct (portrait). The preview window shows it rotated 90 clockwise.  Attribute Orientation shows it still as Right-top.

If I select 'normalise orientation' the thumbnail rotates right to match the image, and then I have to Rotate Left 90 to get back to portrait.

I'd like it so I can point the batch job at the folder and know it won't mess up the orientation.  Its annoying to have to keep auditing the results.

I reported this back in 2010 with a link:  http://bugs.cerious.com/FogBugz/default.asp?760772_o613qbva  (doesn't seem to work anymore).

Happy if its just a tick box I've gotten wrong, but I've tried lots of combinations now, none of them seem to work.
