PDF Plugin and accented characters
« on: 2014-07-31 17:43:42 »
I have discovered that the PDF plugin does not make thumbnails or open files if there is an accented character (umlaut etc) in the file name.

Applies to both TP7 and TP9. Not sure if the problem is with TP, Ghostscript or the PDF plugin. Any ideas anyone?

Interesting, I hadn't noticed that before.

Regular accented characters from a Windows codepage (ë, á, ô, etc) don't seem to be a problem but with Unicode filenames, you're right.

Could be all three, but it's not something that a user could fix either way. Maybe this is why Cerious never endorsed the Ghostscript plugin for ThumbsPlus versions higher than v7.
