ThumbsPlus v10 Questions / 4005 vs 4007
« on: 2016-03-20 09:37:32 »
I have some problems to follow Cerious as well. When build 4005 was that perfect, what was the motivation to release build 4007?  As you say, what are the couple of problems that make Cerious reluctant to deem 4007 an official build? Is 4005 considered as the final release of version 10 ignoring it's beta state?

Wow, your suggested settings accelerate database handling a lot. Thanks very much.

I removed the 64bit package and installed the 32bit drivers. Now I can find sqlite* files in the windows folders system32 and syswow64. But I am not sure which driver is used by tp10. When I remove "C:\Program Files (x86)\ThumbsPlus 10\Odbc\sqlite3odbc.dll" tp does not start. When this dll is replaced by the one contained in the 32bit driver package tp works fine, but without noticeable changes of performance.

Windows 7x64 SP1

I also installed the x64 package. When I copy sqlite3odbc.dll from "C:\Program Files\SQLite ODBC Driver for Win64" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\ThumbsPlus 10\Odbc" TP10 does not start and I get the following message.

So I had to restore the original file to get tp working again. No surprise, the database performance has not changed. In "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" are no sqlite* files.

In contrast to the remarks in the release notes the height of the metadata toolbar is now (4007) greater than the height of the toolbars of the other panes. Please align them again or - even better - make the metadata toolbar hideable.

Hello Gary!

Thanks a lot. Download worked fine. After editing your Thumbs10.vconfig according to my preferences I can now enjoy a status line that meets my needs.

Hello Gary, somehow I lost all .vconfig files. If file uploading directly to this forum fails, I would recommend [link=]Zippyshare[/link]. It is very simple and there is no sign up required.

Hello Gary, unfortunately your tip of does not work for me anymore with build 4001. I can no longer find the appropriate entries in the configuration files.

Hello Cerious, please fix this bug (configuration of view window status line not saved and always reset to defaults after closing of view window)! Apparently a long existing error.

Your hint worked for me, thank you.

The selected items in the status line of the view window are not saved and reset to the defaults every time the view window is closed.

ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / WARNING on SP2 Beta 1

Same for me. Deleted this way several files unawares. Luckily I also could retrieve these files from my backup.

ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / TP9 SP1 Still Has Problems

Thanks for your feedback. It saves time, energy and nerves for installing another alpha-like buggy update, this time cockily called service pack. I'm absolutely fed up with this unreliable piece of software whose latest stable and useable version, thmpls7sp2, dates from 2007.

Just reverted to 3936 - everything works fine.

tp3937 stops responding after standby showing the following error message. The message is repeated endlessly so it is necessary to use task manager to close tp. This behaviour is reproducible. I'm using sqlite database type.

Thanks for your reply but using unlocker is an annoying workaround - you have to use it before every single folder operation. I'm in doubt if it is a MS issue. Folder operations work fine with tp7 - and with other products on the market.
