One can manually set TP (Help | Program Updates) to check at pre-set times if the current version of the program is the most recent, or one can click on "Check now!". I suspect this is what Wolfgang was referring to (at least that is how I interpreted his query).

For several days after receipt of the e-mail announcing the release of Build 4004, Build 4003, when prompted to look for updates, would report that their are NO new updates.

I cannot check if that is still the case, because I have since updated to the most recent build. However, I would expect TP, when asked to check for a new version, to ALWAYS indicate if there is a more recent build or not.

My TP10 Build 2003 also did not detect that their is a new build. This is a problem on Cerious' side (they obviously "forgot" to do something). But you can download Build 2004 from their website, For my purposes TP10 Build 2004 is the first fully functional version of TP since TP7!

The long-standing problem [msg]3631[/msg] with the display of the window in which one assigns user-defined fields (with more than one file selected at the same time) has been fixed in TP 10 Build 4004! Following months of denial by Support that there is a problem (some of the exchanges on this Forum about the matter have since mysteriously disappeared), it has finally dawned on Cerious that this was after all a bug in the programme. Thank you Cerious for having corrected this frustrating problem!

I am baffled; what's going on at Cerious? After having been promised by Support that it would be fixed, the 'Assign User Fields' down arrows are still missing!

I maintain a very large database of images on TP7SP2 and cannot risk lack of functionality when upgrading. Over the years I have written many e-mails to Cerious concerning actual technical problems (not testing) relating to TP8 and TP9 releases. However, never have I received any replies from Cerious. Customer Support seemingly does not exist at Cerious. Only responses ever received (rather quickly) was when I wanted to buy something. Fortunately, hitherto I could simply continue working on TP7SP2 and abandon the new releases. I am absolutely baffled by this lack of support from Cerious. They are very quick to try sell their products, albeit sometimes in apparent desperation by offering specials, but user support is non-existent; at least that is my experience. Very unfortunate and very sad considering a potentially excellent product.

Eventually picked up the courage to upgrade from TP7SP2 to TP9SP1 (installation all in one). Have converted my old td4 database to tpd8. However, when I tried to index new thumbnails, the following problem is encountered. If MORE THAN ONE new thumbnail is selected (to add similar information), and I click "Thumbnail" > "Assign User Fields..." the form with fields to fill out appears on screen. However, it is somewhat stretched horizontally (or perhaps it is bigger in TP9?) but the down arrow of the drop-down lists towards the right hand side of each field do not show---or only occasionally and randomly (regardless of whether the field's checkbox has been ticked). I also do not see the cursor when I want to type the information in a particular field--but the characters do appear when typing. This inability to make use of the drop-down lists is very frustrating when you want to enter existing information in the user fields.

Any help would be appreciated.
