Hello,

I'm moving thumbs to a new computer.  it seems to have worked in that the app opens; but after a short time, I get the below message.  any thoughts on how to get red of this??

"your session is not active in the thumbspus pro database for multi-user license validation.  the database may be unreachable or damaged, or your computer was not able to check in for 5 minutes.

at that point, the app closes.

thoughts???

I always appreciate your replies.

so I notice three things when I use PHPmyadmin to look at my db.

(a) the NAS have different IP addresses
(b) the volume name is the same, except for the first letter which is capitalized on one NAS and not capitalized on the other.
(c) the volumes have different serial numbers.  will this matter???

if I understand your comments correctly, I need to reassign my IP addresses so that the new NAS takes the place of the old NAS.  also, I guess I need to make them both either capital or not capital.

folks get new computers all the time.  I'd have hoped there was an automated way to do this; but in reviewing the help files there does not seem to be.  am I missing something??

Hello Daan,

can I simply re "build" that mapped drive, or will it lose all my meta data and libraries?

btw  -  the folders are mostly green, but some are blue.  so they are not grey.

Hello,

my new folders are not being scanned.  I think I know reason; but don't know how to fix.  I got a new NAS.  the new NAS has a different IP address; but it's mapped to the same drive.  in TP, I actually see the new IP address, so TP seems to have picked this up; but for some reason new folders are not being recognized even though I've scanned the entire tree.

thoughts???

Hello

I did a search but found no reference to HEIC in TP.  anyone know if it perhaps has an undocumented feature for converting HEIC to thumbsplus?  it's been around since 2015; but I've never really cared until Apple decided to take pictures in heic format.  now I have pictures that I can't view on my computer.  I can use "photos"; but I'd prefer to continue using TP.  there are numerous open source conversion utilities of dubious quality.  I've take a look at paid options; but not sure which are best in terms of providing a lossless conversion.

I'd appreciate any comments on this issue wrt TP, or just heic conversion in general.

I have the ansi quotes setup in the ODBC system connection.  I'd think this overrides anything in the my.sql file; but I will check.

I will try this.  my recollection is that this creates a very long file that's difficult to understand ;>)

hello,

I've been successfully using TP on MYSQL on my WAMP server for years.  Today, I upgraded my WAMP server and TP no longer successfully accesses my MYSQL db.  it gives the below error message.  the only thing I can see that has changed is that the port MYSQL uses has changed from (by memory 3306??) to 3308.  I've gone ahead and changed this in the ODBC connection and the "test" function provides a successfull connection to the database from the ODBC.

Database error : The selected database is not a Thumbsplus database.  If you are connecting to a client/server Thumbsplus database, check with the database administrator to ensure your login has appropriate priveleges.


any ideas on how to fix this issue?

folks,

I generally leave TP open overnight; but it always time's out.  is there a way to stop it from doing this; as I have to perform a 3 finger salute and kill the process, then open the app again.

folks,

in many programs, it is standard to move around the image by clicking a "hand" on the toolbar, then dragging the image around.  in TP, the only way I can find to move around the image is with scroll bars - which is inefficient.  is there a way to use the standard "hand" that perhaps I'm missing??
