I read somewhere about TP9 having a new database format or something.    Looking at the top of the window when I start TP9 it says.... Thumbs.tpdb8.

Is that correct?    Based on that, it "appears" that it may be using an older database format.

If this is NOT a TP9 db... if it "could" be... SHOULD I convert it or something?

Just want to make sure I am not going to lose some functionality if I have it this way.

If I "should" convert it, will I lose anything such as BATCH processes and stuff?

ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / Illustrator CS5 support????
« on: 2014-06-17 12:51:27 »
I've posted a couple "tickets" for help over the past couple months.... no one replies... so I will try here.

Have been a TP user for years.   I use it a great deal to put "watermarks" and resize copies of artwork I do for proofing by clients.    Works GREAT for that... until....

I upgraded from Adobe Illustrator CS3 to CS5.   Now TP won't preview or work with those files.

I thought it was because I was running an older version of TP.   So I popped for the upgrade and got TP9.   Still doesn't work.

Any suggestions or reasons why?  Any solutions?   I desperately need this.    Right now I have to RESAVE all my files as JPGs THEN run them through TP for the watermark and RESIZE.   This doesn't work for me.

Thanks

ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / Automatic Slideshow
« on: 2014-02-04 11:20:14 »
We LOVE Thumbsplus for day to day work.   What I am trying to do now is use the Slideshow capability to showcase some work we have done on a dedicated PC.    What we want to do is be able to turn it on and it will automatically boot up and start showing all the pics in a specific directory (without any user intervention).

I thought I could do that using TP COMMANDER but can't get anything to work no matter what I try.    I was going to create a batch file and call it in the Windows Startup.

I put in it...

tpcmd SlideShow(c:\shop pics\)

The TPCMD.EXE file is in the same directory as the pics. The TPCMD.EXE is in the C:\ folder.

All I get is a screen flash and that is it.

I tried adding a    -l error.log    to the end but don't get any output either into that file (it is never created).

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Pete
