Title: How does Thumbsplus play video files?
Post by: Mizkreant on 2019-02-22 07:23:57
Does it use its own internal codecs or DirectShow?

Sorry, didn't see the topic a few lines down. This really isn't a big issue, but I have a very old video file that's encoded using the hacked DivX 3.11 codec. I've set up FFDShow to play the file correctly in other media players, but Thumbsplus won't play it nor make a thumbnail.

Have you used FFDShow's Video Decoder Configuration utility to make it A) handle that particular fourcc ('codecs' section) and B)  to make it work with ThumbsPlus ('DirectShow Control' section) ?  If you have disabled it for ThumbsPlus at some point, that last section is where you can revert that.

Yes, I set that and it still doesn't work. Not a big deal though. I'm not using Thumbsplus for video.
