This may provide a workaround for those wanting to remove the alignment flag. I'll experiment later this week.

I've a few submitted reports, reviewing in my spare time. Close edited image without a save appears to be fine, as does screwy fonts on an XP system. As I've both Win81 and XP systems, I want the same version running on both. Also, search for similar appears quicker, as does scan tree.

Appears fix has been made, will check other reported bugs.

I have TP9 on both Win 8.1 and XP machines. All TP9 builds lock up on XP when I try to close an image view window without saving. Forget my other submitted bugz that all are unresolved, I've been able to work around those without too much effort. Has the exit without saving lockout problem been fixed in 3942?

I'm fairly certain I've seen this issue before, presented by others as well as myself.

What we want is the ability to clear the EXIF tag for orientation (0x0112) so we can rotate and save the base image so the browser (or other displaying) application will present the image correctly, regardless of EXIF compatibility.

Maybe this time they'll respond with more than "the orientation tag is working correctly." Sigh.

And on my PC's it DOES reduce oversize images. Too strange.

I was just playing around with settings because of the ever repeating problem of black borders. Try this, it might give you what you need:

Options | Viewing Options | Window | Fit images to window width & Maintain aspect ratio

TP build 3938 on Win 8.1 or Win XP Pro SP3:
Options | Viewing Options | Window | Fit images to window width & Maintain aspect ratio

I don't understand the question in the pop-up but I've learned if I click "Yes," I get how I customized TP to appear the last build.

10
After Build 3936 installed on PC #3 without problem, reapplied to PC #2 successfully. Solved without a parameter change or programmatic fix. So the problem was not clearly defined, nor was the solution.

This afternoon, I'll try the suggestion from here: http://forums.cerious.com/forum/index.php?id=3434

Maybe the configuration of my home network is funky. Image files are on an external hard drive on PC #1 and there is a thumbs database on each networked PC.

Build 3936 is too slow on networked PC #2 to test any functionality, I simply haven't the time to wait for TP to rebuild (or whatever it's doing) every directory every time I need access. I've rolled PC #2 back to Build 3935.

*** Response time on PC #1 is sufficient, I'll poke there.

Fairly certain. Futz. LOL.

I'm fairy certain I was getting the message before 3928 but didn't report it because there was a thumbs.db (hidden Windows system file) resident and gumming up the works. Windows hasn't been consistent in removing a directory lock when the thumbs.db files have been cleaned off... and this problem seems to get passed on the TP. I suspect the problem won't be fixed for the next build but with other issues taken care of, it should/might be easier to identify the cause.

When I had this occur, I removed orphans from the tree.
