TP10 A New Buginning
« on: 2015-07-07 03:54:36 »
I've noticed that databases with internally stored thumbnails in V10 are now at least twice the size of the exact same database created with V9. To test this I created two identical databases and scanned the same folder, the V9 database was less than half the size of the one V10 created. How did this happen? Keep posting bugs guys:-)

Yikes.  I uninstalled TP9, but I think I'll install it and give this a try.  Good catch.  BTW, I f'in love the subject line!

I did the same with SQLite (tpdb8s)
The results are identical to TP9 and TP10

Ah, I did not notice the example was with the Access database.  Like you I use the SQlite database, so I'll go with your findings and not reinstall TP9.  Thanks!

I have just upgraded from TP9 build 3945 to TP10RC1.

I have several Access databases with sizes from a few dozen files to close to the size limit and I see exactly the same database file sizes across both versions for all of them.

I have not reinstalled TP9 so no way to test.  However, has anyone else built a corresponding SQLite database from scratch in TP9 and then in TP10 to compare sizes?  Is there a way to determine if row size has increased in TP10?
