General Discussion / TP10 A New Buginning

Ah, I did not notice the example was with the Access database.  Like you I use the SQlite database, so I'll go with your findings and not reinstall TP9.  Thanks!

Yikes.  I uninstalled TP9, but I think I'll install it and give this a try.  Good catch.  BTW, I f'in love the subject line!

The crash appears to be fixed in 3952.

ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / Daan, please help

Daan,

Could you possibly use your influence to get Cerious to fix the serious bugs in build 3950?  Since Laura does not have time to read the forums, maybe you could inform her of the items we've encountered?

Kindest regards,
Gary

I use 9 only because I've exceeded the 2GB database limit of 7.  I use 7 for video files as 9 will not create proper thumbnails nor find dupes with video files.  The separate window concept of 9 is totally frustrating.  Tab no longer works to go between panes.  Panes lose focus.  Dragging between panes is a pain.  Ugh.

68
Same error I got when trying to resize a picture.  Ugh.  I went back to build 3946.  I swear these people do not test this software.

Enough said.  (Edit:  the files do not have a thumbnail in the database.)

What a damn joke.

ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / Stop wasting my time!!!
« on: 2015-05-28 08:42:09 »
Build 3950 has introduced new bugs ... like crashing when spacing thru list of images without thumbnails and a video file is encountered.  Resizing and saving some jpg files squawks about being unable to save some stupid thing to the file (NEVER seen this one before).  The view windows no longer observes the theme colors for toolbar and status bar.  No telling what else lurks.

Other than the toolbar thing, which is a nice solution, nothing else is fixed.  Dragging files from thumbnail window to folder window is still a giant crap shoot, no status indicators, no ALT+n sorts, no counter on Task tab, etc, etc, etc.

I think Cerious has completely lost control of this mess.

I'm not sure if my situation is the same as yours, but when I did a clean install of the latest version of TP9, my license code failed with the red X.  I clicked OK (but don't remember the exact sequence of screens).  However, TP9 installed and it shows being licensed to me.  Don't plan on getting any help from Cerious.

Cheers,
Gary

I have found that password protected PDF files will get the generic icon.  I'm not sure if this applies in your case, but just a thought.

Cheers,
Gary

Nicely done Eric.  Please post the reply you receive.

Thanks!

It too doesn't save the viewer's last setting, but it can be manually edited to turn the Viewer's status bar on or off.

Thanks Daan.  I have TP8 installed on another system and it does have an effective vconfig file (it does control status bar elements).  I copied it to TP9 install changing name to thumbs9.vconfig.  It appears TP9 ignores the file.  I also noticed that the viewer status bar information is set from the initial image and then never updated as I spacebar through the images.  Heck, I think I might just turn it off altogether.  Cheers, Gary
