It appears thumbnail remove/create performance has been significantly improved.  Does anyone else use this database and can you see improved performance?

I am able to add external programs, but cannot delete them.  If I customize the toolbar, select the external program entry (File|Open With...), right click on entry and select delete, the entry is NOT deleted.

I have MS Access installed so I am able to open the database and manually delete the corresponding rows to get rid of the external program entry.

When adding an external program, checking "Pass folder name if no files are selected" does nothing.  The "PassFolder" column remains set to 0.  Manually changing the column value to 1 will then pass the folder name as expected.  I did not test the other two option settings.

If I delete an image, the corresponding thumbnail file is deleted as expected.

If I remove the thumbnail for an image, the thumbnail file is NOT deleted.

Scan of a folder with 50 files creates 50 thumbnail files.  Remove all thumbnails and 50 thumbnail files remain.  Scan of the folder again results in 100 thumbnail files.  Delete all 50 files results in 50 thumbnail files remaining.  (Removing orphans does NOT delete the left over thumbnail files.)

Update:  If I use (Shift+Del) on an individual image, the thumbnail file is deleted.  If I select multiple files and use (Shift+Del) the thumbnail files are not deleted.

Win7 64-bit and Sqlite3 database.

Had a folder named "Namc YS11".  Shift + F5 to rename in the location tree.  Rename to "NAMC YS11" and bye bye to thumbnails in the folder.  So,  it appears TP9 does not like when you simply change the case of part of the folder name.  UGH.

The above action from the thumbnail list (F2 to rename folder) does not remove the folder thumbnails.  However, the name is not refreshed in the location tree.

The internal video player is incomplete.  Many window buttons do nothing and the window is not properly sized.  Will all features be restored to the internal video player?

TP9 will not make the graph like thumbnails as in TP7.  TP9 will not play MP3 files internally as does TP7.  Will these features be restored to TP9?

Cheers,
Gary

When using Thumbs.tpdb8s database, a defined external program does not stick after TP9 is restarted.  I have a couple of external programs I like to reference from within TP.  When will this feature work?

Every time I select Preferences | Thumbnail View, For this view: Date taken is selected regardless of the options I had previously set.  I have to uncheck the option for each Thumbnail View any time I make a change.  Please fix this.

Gary

The icon is just a blank window.  When are you going to finish it out to look like TP7 (same as Large icon but with ? in the center)?

The only one that works is Alt+0 to sort similar.  When can we expect these keyboard shortcuts to be restored?

Start TP9 with Tasks as the focused pane.  Select any folder of images.  Click on Preview pane and the image in the Preview pane is tiled.  Click on another image and then the images in the Preview pane will display correctly.

ThumbsPlus v7-v9 Questions / Task Indicators TP9-3928

The active task indicator does not appear on the status bar even when the option is selected.

Why does the Tasks pane not display task counts as TP7?  [Tasks (1/2)]

Cheers,
Gary

Three files in folder:  A.jpg, B.jpg and C.jpg.

Thumbnails made for each image.  The objective is to delete A.jpg then rename B.jpg to A.jpg (this works just fine in TP7):

- Click on A.jpg thumbnail then delete the file.
- Click on B.jpg and press F2 to rename file to A.jpg.  Dialogue box appears:
B.jpg:  Cannot rename file to A.jpg
The system cannot find the file specified.
    Message 5110-2
    Click OK
The same dialogue box appears again.
    Click OK
- File B.jpg disappears from thumbnail list leaving only C.jpg.
- Press F5 to refresh the list.
- File B.jpg reappears but has in fact been renamed A.jpg.

I found a work around:

- Click on A.jpg thumbnail then delete the file.
- Click on another folder in folder list, then click back to working folder.
- Rename of B.jpg to A.jpg works as expected.

Cheers,
Gary
