Title: Video controls in viewer
Post by: Gary Richardson on 2016-09-23 22:13:34
Hi all,

I"m running v10 build 4011 on Windows 7. I was just browsing through a folder of photos from my recent vacation, clicking the "next" icon to go from photo to photo (I added "next" and "previous" icons to the toolbar). There happened to be an mp4 video in the folder. When I got to the video, it started playing, however there were no video controls. I know from the browser window I can double click on a video and it'll bring up a video player with the appropriate controls, but those controls didn't appear when I watched the viewer in the regular viewer window.

Is it possible to get video controls to appear, or should I avoid viewing a folder in this manner when there's a mix of photos and videos?

Thanks!

-Gary

Hey Gary,

This a a bug in TP10 I've complained about and nothing has been done to fix it.  I hold out no hope it will ever be fixed.

I find in this situation the program can hang to the point I have to kill it with task manager.  Try to avoid the situation.

Maybe Daan has a work around for this.

Cheers,
Gary

Not really, other than that you can avoid this by not mixing images and videos in your thumbnail listing. In the filename mask (to the right of the funnel icon above the thumbnails) I usually have either:

 .jpg;.jpeg;.tif?;.gif;.png;.jp2;.bmp;.orf

or

 .avi;.flv;.mpg;.mpeg;.divx;.mkv;.mov;.webm;.wmv

(the photo and video formats that I use, respectively).
