securing user defined file types
« on: 2011-07-08 19:01:59 »
Hello & good evening,

my problem is, that I have defined many file types not supported by default.
Mostly animation formats and edited some others. Like linking .hdr to HDRShop.
Now, every time an updated is released and installed, all those settings are gone
and I have to edit / define all those file types again.

Is there a file I can backup and restore after updating?

Thanks for any info on this.

Martin

File type associations are stored in the configuration file Thumbs8.typ, which can be found in the folder that stores your preferences (depending on the setup you selected during installation); in my case it's C:\Users\hfremuth\AppData\Roaming\ThumbsPlus.

The easiest way is to preserve your customizations is to create a separate file with it and then copy them back in again when you re-install ThumbsPlus.
